FLORIDA VINTAGE MOTOCROSS 2008 SEASON RULES AND REGULATIONS
FLVMX membership dues are $45.00 at the beginning of the race series and after February it will be 25.00. Membership starts October 1st, every year. Youth membership is 35.00 for the entire series.
An adult rider competing in his/her first ever FLVMX event does not have to be a member. First time riders will not receive points in a championship class until they are a member. Adult riders must be a member by their second race. Minors must sign up for membership first time out! And also have a signed minor release at every race! No exceptions!
Members are required to have their own medical/personal injury/liability insurance to cover any injury or death that may occur! FLORIDA VINTAGE MOTOCROSS LLC and WOODY'S VINTAGE GP LLC, and its officers and any of the race facilities or sponsors are not responsible for the riders, and or members in their pits, including travel to and from the events. Motocross is a dangerous sport! If you do not have insurance, do not race! All releases must be signed when entering the facility and before entering the track period!
Florida Vintage Motocross LLC Reserves the right to deny or revoke any person(s) opportunity/right to ride in the interest of safety.
RULES FOR THE 2008 SEASON
SECTION 1
NUMBER PLATES
COLORS AND NUMBERS
Number plates are to be of standard size (or bigger) and each bike will have 3 plates visible for scorers. Numbers are to be at least 5 inch’s tall, (six is recommended) and highly readable. "Trick" looking numbers are very hard to read at speed, keep this in mind! Any letter that's added will be placed in the right hand lower section of the plate! (Looking at the plate). Do not stick it where you think it looks good! This is a nightmare for the people who score! If you want your points or wood, get it right! No exceptions! Colors: vintage will be white back ground with black #’s, evolution bikes will be yellow back grounds with black #'s. No exceptions! All the bikes you ride must carry the same numbers.
SECTION 1a RIDERS RESPONSIBILITY:
Each and every rider will be ready to race when racing starts, also be staged for the next race. It is the rider’s responsibility to be on time and if riding back to back moto’s to have some to hold a spot for you. It is not the Gate Person’s responsibility to hold your spot.
It is each and every rider’s responsibility to ride and race in a safe but competitive fashion! Rubbing is racing but I will not tolerate any rough riding of any kind! You will be asked to leave and if you bow up, I will make you leave.
Most importantly it is the rider’s responsibility to sign every release that is required by FLVMX LLC period!
BIKE INSPECTIONS AND SAFETY ISSUES
All machines must be in a safe race ready condition! No bolt on kick stands, throttles must return on their own, brakes must work front and rear, levers must have a rounded ball end or taped up for the days race (and repaired by next race) all bikes are to period correct and I will enforce that issue! All bikes are subject to random tech inspection. It is at FLVMX’s discretion on what is acceptable to be on the track. All decisions are final.
SECTION 1b
ALL RIDERS WILL HAVE FUN! ENJOY THE FACT THAT WE CAN STILL DO THIS AND THAT WE LIVE IN A FREE COUNTRY COURTESY OF OUR MEN AND WOMEN OF THE ARMED FORCES!
SECTION 2:
RACE NUMBERS
It is a requirement to have one set of racing numbers for each rider. In the past we have had way too many duplicate numbers, making it impossible to score correctly. When you sign up for your membership you will be asked to pick a number. If you are already a member you have first choice of your number you carried before. I know many of you have a favorite number, but we will do the best to see you get it. Also AHRMA numbers will have priority use if you have one! Class champion’s numbers from the previous year are reserved for them. NEW: You are now able to place a letter in FRONT of your racing number, ONLY if the letter is the SAME size as the numbers.
FOR ANY QUESTIONS PLEASE SEE MAIN SCORE KEEPER SAVANNAH, TO PLACE YOUR REQUEST IN WRITING.
ATTENTION! IN THE PAST I HAVE ASKED THAT ALL FLVMX MEMBERS RIDING MODERN SUPPORT TO RIDE AN EVO OR VINTAGE BIKE ~ 99% HAVE DONE THAT AND I THANK YOU. STARTING THIS YEAR IT WILL BE A RULE! BY THE MIDDLE OF THE SEASON ALL MODERN SUPPORT RIDERS (THAT ARE MEMBERS) WILL RIDE AN EVO-VINTAGE BIKE. THIS IS TO ENSURE THAT WE STAY WITH THE STRUCTURE THAT WE ARE, A VINTAGE SERIES
