- We have recevied the following from Richard Bowman with AmpXtreme MX:
"If you haven't heard already the county revoked our permit to operate so we moved to Madison County and teamed up with Motoplex. We are in the process of finishing a 15 acre clay, sand mix national caliber track with plenty of parking. Jeremy has decided to get out of the motocross business but my brother(Bim) and I are still going strong. I enjoyed very much working with you and hope to do the same in the future. - OK, racing this weekend at Sunshine MX in St Pete. The track was great last time (except for some dust) and Frank and his crew have promised to have a water truck on hand this time. Plus the season is winding down, only two more events after this one. Remember, you have to race in 7 races to qualify for the year end awards. See everyone Sunday at Sunshine MX.
- Just a schedule update, with the cancellation of round #6 at Flyin High MX, the series will consist of 11 races, you have to compete in 7 to qualify for year end awards. And to make up for the missed round, the last race on June 29th at Hard Rock will be double points.
- With the rash of thefts of bikes (especially in the Ocala area) we will post any news of stolen bikes here so you can be on the lookout for them. It appears that there is a ring in Ocala stealing trucks, trailers, bikes and moving them to Tampa. This is what happened to FLVMX member Jon Sherr in June (see below) and happened to someone else recently. If you plan on staying overnite in the Ocala area, DO NOT leave your trailer at the motel unless you have some kind of theft deterrent system to keep these sleeze bags from stealing your stuff. It is safer to leave your trailer, bikes, etc. at the track close to someone else that is camping there for the night.

- FLVMX member Jonathan Sherr had his truck, trailer, and all bikes and gear stolen Saturday night/Sunday morning from a motel in Ocala, FL. The truck and trailer were located in Tampa several hours later with the trailer emptied out. Be on the lookout for Jon's YZ450F, 81 YZ250, his gear, etc. in the area. Below are photos of what to be looking for.
Riding gear which consisted of yellow and black Berik boots, yellow helmet with black lighting bolts and yellow and white FOX pant/shirt. These items were in a 50th anniversary yellow/black gear bag. |
